Port of Seattle recently disclosed that it suffered a data breach that compromised the sensitive personal data of certain individuals.
What Happened?
On August 24, 2024, the Port of Seattle suffered a ransomware attack (linked to the Rhysida group) that disrupted airport and maritime operations. Approximately 90,000 individuals had sensitive information accessed, including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and medical data. Notification letters were issued in early 2025.
