New American Funding recently disclosed that it suffered a data breach that compromised the sensitive personal data of certain individuals.

What Happened?

On June 6, 2025, New American Funding was alerted to suspicious activity involving their vendor Mobile Notary Zone. An investigation revealed unauthorized access to systems containing consumer data. By July 11, 2025, New American Funding reported the breach to the California Attorney General and notified affected customers. Exposed information includes names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, government IDs, financial data, and medical information. A ransomware attack by the Everest group was later linked to the incident around July 15, 2025.
